Without further ado!

Hello folks!

We haven’t been on here for a while, but as many of you know, we’ve had a very good reason: We’ve been working on our video for Phase III of the W3 contest.  And now we’d like to share the results (of our work, not the contest – we won’t know that until June 11th) with you all!

You can follow this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCujxiJrC4M to view…and for anyone who has trouble (i.e. people in the US) there is another link below to a less “musically diverse” version that will play outside of Canada.  Sorry about the repetition, but evidently there was some confusion about a copyright?

Anyway, we hope you enjoy!  We sure had a good time making it, and it will definitely be a memory of our wedding journey that we will have for years to come.

We’re baaaaa-aaaaack!

For one more closing post to discuss our reflections on the contest so far🙂

Just when you thought you were rid of us, here we are launching more of our weirdness into the blogosphere.  We hope this is a positive addition to your day, and if not thanks for clicking through just the same! Continue reading

So long and thanks for all the fish

Well well well…here we are on the last day of Phase II of our Wedding Threesome Contest and not posting a blog until almost 10pm.  It’s been a wild ride, kids – we’ve seen a whole lotta love coming to us from all parts of the world, a few celebrity appearances and even a couple of people stopped by after entering “spur-of-the-moment threesome” into their search engines (we can only hope they were the only ones who were disappointed!).  But in the end, what this has really been is a great opportunity to share our pre-wedding excitement with a whole bunch of folks who otherwise would not have been privy to all the gory details.  So while we fully plan to blow Phase III out of the water (whatever it may be), win or lose we’ve had some fun and connected with family, friends and strangers all across the globe.  Pretty frakking cool if you ask us.

And since so many people have been so amazing as to send us their love in the form of photos and hand-written messages of support, we figured it was only fair that we do the same.  Here goes nothing!

And of course, we had to get a “family” shot:

Fezz is like: “It was all me.  I owned this blog”.

Chris is like: “Stop pretending that the cat can talk”

But seriously, a great big heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone out there who’s been reading and clicking through, as well as again to all of those who helped us get to this phase of the contest by liking/adding/joining and commenting their butts off on Facebook back in March!  We couldn’t have done it without you…or Fezz.

All our love,

Jaime & Chris

Meet the Parents

Happy belated Easter everyone!  We hope you didn’t miss us too much over the weekend, as we decided to take a little R&R from the blogging madness.

As it turns out, our long weekend afforded us the opportunity to have a Sisman/Brugman family get-together, which has inspired us (along with the recommendations of a few other folks) to write this post in which we introduce you to the fantastic people who made us such fantastic people😛.

Let’s start with the Sismans (aka “The Sizemans”)… Continue reading

The 4-hour Engagement

A post by Chris

About a year ago, before we were engaged, Jaime and I decided it was time to make a change in our diets. Being together we had gotten comfortable and both put on a little extra weight.  We began very simply by removing simple carbs from our dinners.  It was surprisingly quite easy to do, and we decided we weren’t going to be too strict or stress ourselves out (like worrying if we ate out and didn’t have a no-carb option).  We just wanted to feel better.

In the summer of 2011 I read a book by Tim Ferriss called The 4-Hour Body.  I was already a fan of Tim’s work from his first novel, The 4-Hour Workweek.  In the new book, Tim outlines a nutrition plan that he calls the “Slow carb diet”.  This was taking our improved eating habits up a notch. Funny thing about getting married…

As any good nerd couple knows, an entire evening can easily be consumed sitting side by side in the computer room, browsing the web and sharing funny or cool things with one another.  Chris is usually in there in the evening playing a game or watching a podcast anyway, but once a week or so we completely nerd out together and manage to kill several hours this way.  Chris is always finding whatever is weirdest, wildest and most wonderful online, and it should come as no surprise that Jaime’s “shares” are usually cat-related (see About Fezzik).  Anyway, the other night we found ourselves on a roll again and the topic was, also not surprisingly, marriage.

While most jokes about matrimony, as anticipated, consisted largely of the same negative messages of women complaining about chores and men complaining about lack of freedom, we did find a few that we thought were so funny and/or cute we thought we’d share.   So here are your Friday smiles a day early…happy Easter/Passover/long weekend blog-readers!

1) This first one seemed appropriate given the contest and all

10 Rules for a Happy Marriage

When we first got engaged, Mom and Dad Brugman passed along these words of wisdom to us.  They had received “The Rules” on a poster when they first tied the knot, and we figure they must have served them well because they’re still happily married after 35 years come this June!  Now, as an early tribute to their big anniversary, we’re sharing the rules with you.  Enjoy! (#2 and #6 are favourites of theirs): Continue reading
